This was a thought-provoking workshop fuelled by our imaginative participants and their excursions into the transitional spaces of SoCal.
After a short introduction the participants were divided into groups and sent out to a pre-determined location where transitional spaces and activities might be found. Upon their return they presented their findings as a selection of photographs. A discussion on transitional spaces followed. This was grounded in the observations made earlier in the day and formed a link between the fieldwork, theoretical ideas of what transitional spaces are and how they are formed and the design of new technologies. These reflections fed into the design session that followed.
